Thanks for commenting! I would love to have a steel tongue drum; they’re so beautiful.

Our school went remote last week and I decided to do a show and tell with the students with a couple of instruments. I just purchased my first Kalimba so I shared that one. I am lining up cool instruments for the upcoming weeks including the ocarina, singing bowl and didgeridoo. I would love to acquire a steel tongue drum but just spent a fortune on ukuleles (which I am loving right now!). Thanks for your post!

Awesome! I actually saw an ad for the show the other day and was wondering if it was any good. I’ll add it to my queue!

They are wonderful and one of my favorite shows to come back to over and over. I also love the audio of Cadfael, which Jacobi reads. This has been Geek Out About Cadfael with Laura.

Comment on How to Create a Digital Classroom and Avoid Common Pitfalls by Jennifer https://yellowbrickroadblog.com/2020/05/how-to-create-a-digital-classroom-and-avoid-common-pitfalls.html#comment-10094 Wed, 27 May 2020 11:39:42 +0000 https://yellowbrickroadblog.com/?p=60120#comment-10094 In reply to Elizabeth.

You’re welcome! I’m glad it was helpful 🙂 It’s a lot of work upfront, but also fun to make. I love how digital classrooms give students room to explore, and I think they’d be great for non-music subs too.

I honestly avoided the digital classroom trend this school year but if we are still teaching virtually in the fall will probably do something along these lines. Your tips are fantastic and Melissa’s resources are so useful as well. Thank you for putting this all together!

Comment on Favorites & Thank Yous by Jennifer https://yellowbrickroadblog.com/2020/04/favorites-thank-yous.html#comment-10092 Fri, 01 May 2020 00:43:46 +0000 https://yellowbrickroadblog.com/?p=60024#comment-10092 In reply to Brie.

I’m the same way when it comes to TV. I tend to go back and rewatch my favorites rather than try something new. I’m working on a Star Wars Puzzle right now. Other than when it’s nice enough to walk outside, it’s hard for me to get away from screens throughout the day. Though, I probably should try harder…

Two of my favorites as well. 🙂 As for TV- all my shows (Grey’s Anatomy, This Is Us and Younger) are all on season break and I’m just not in the mood to try out new shows. Books, magazines, Sudoku and jigsaw puzzles- something other than a screen (besides blog-reading, of course)- have been rediscovered pleasures! Hope you are safe and well. 🙂
