The inspiration for this week’s post comes from a marching band competition I attended over the weekend. It was a very breezy day, and as I sat down on the steely cold bleachers, I wondered how much the strong winds were affecting everyone’s show. While discussing the weather, my friend’s husband made the comment that I must have brought the sunshine with me, because it’d been cloudy the entire day until I got there.
I have several videos today that will give you ideas for using this song with your students. My video walks students through practicing the steady beat, as well as creating a new variation of the song. It also contains guitar accompaniment that would work perfectly for student solos! Make sure to subscribe to my Youtube channel if you haven’t already. My library of videos is growing quickly!
The following video shows an easy way to use scarves to create movement. This would be a good song/routine to incorporate into a winter weather program.
The video below shows several great examples for replacing the word “sunshine”.
I hope these videos have inspired you with new lesson ideas. If you have any suggestions for my future videos, feel free to leave them in the comments section. Also, my monthly newsletter will be going out before the end of the month, so do be sure you’re subscribed! You can sign up through my sidebar (on desktop) or by scrolling down (mobile). Thanks for reading!

Your videos are just getting more and more "meaty"- so helpful for lesson ideas and even putting straight into the classroom! Thank you for your work in putting these together. We've had some windy weather recently, so this is perfect timing (as usual)!
Thanks Elizabeth!
What is the source for the recording of the first video with the scarves? I like the B section for creative movement!
Sadly, I don't know. Any other readers out there know the answer?
