May is one of my favorite months, in part because of my birthday, but also because it’s the start of sunny weather here in the Midwest. For many teachers in the States, it’s also the month of planning end-of-year content. For some that means finding lessons to review what students have learned and a few just-for-fun lessons for the last days of classes. Here’s my roundup for lessons that will help you plan out the rest of your school year.

End of Year Organization

If you’re a longtime reader of my blog, you know that I’m a fan of organization. My love for it extends beyond music education and into my personal life, with the exception of my car, which seems to be where my love of organization ends. Regardless, I loved keeping my classroom organized, and one way to excel at that was to ensure that I organized my classroom before leaving for summer break.

Easy End-of-Year Music Crafts

Simple music crafts like origami piano are a fun way to close out the school year. This post shows you how to make several DIY instruments with paper, popsicle sticks, and other low-budget items.

End of Year Roundup

This post is a roundup I created with my friends a few years ago. It includes lots of easy lesson ideas, summer prep, and other fantastic ideas for the end of the year.
