This interactive lesson introduces students in grades K–8 to dynamics through real-life sounds, pictures, and videos. Students hear dynamics in audio examples, feel it by moving and playing along with loud and soft music, see it in everyday videos, and compare it with its musical opposite. A short quiz before and after the lesson shows what they learned.

For songs and movement with dynamics, pair it with Dynamic Pets: singing and moving with piano and forte or Dynamic Pets: Crescendo and Decrescendo.
