Concepts assessed

Form: same and different; binary; ternary; rondo
Tempo: steady beat and no steady beat; slow and fast; slow, walking pace, and fast; largo, andante, allegro, presto
Timbre: instrumental, vocal, and environmental sounds; pitched and unpitched; instrument families (percussion, brass, strings, woodwind)
Pitch: high and low; moving up and moving down; steps and skips; patterns with do, re, mi, so, and la; melodic dictation with any solfège you choose
Dynamics: loud and soft; piano and forte; p, mp, mf, f; crescendo, decrescendo, and diminuendo
Rhythm: quarter note and quarter rest; barred eighths; barred sixteenths; an eighth and two sixteenths; two sixteenths and an eighth; triplets; half, dotted half, and whole notes
