This listening lesson helps students in grades K–2 read quarter notes, barred eighth notes, and quarter rests using the theme from the second movement of Beethoven’s Seventh Symphony. Students move from iconic to stick notation, find the rhythm in the music, play the Music Freeze Game, and compose their own 8-beat rhythm patterns.
