This bundle gives you all nine Basics of Music lessons, one for each element of music. Each interactive lesson uses real-life sounds, pictures, and videos so students can hear, feel, and see the element, then check what they learned with a short quiz.

  • A main menu with clickable links and a simple definition of the element
  • “How it sounds,” “How it feels,” and “How it looks” slides with audio, play-along audio, and video links
  • “What it isn’t” slides on the musical opposite, plus bonus slides
  • A pre-quiz and post-quiz with instant feedback, plus bonus challenge questions
  • A lesson plan PDF (Texture has a middle school composition project instead)
  • Directions for playing the audio and video

Formats

  • Google Slides: A link is included in your download and lets you add your own copy to Google Drive.
  • PowerPoint

Important

  • Please preview each video in its entirety before showing it to your class.
  • Videos play through YouTube, so an internet connection is required.
  • The presentation must be in presentation mode, in PowerPoint or Google Slides, for the clickable links and audio to work.

    These power points are great! Just a “warning” that they won’t convert to Google Slides because of the size of the files and all the embedded sound effects. Just make sure you have a computer with PowerPoint so you can utilize all the aspects of them. Very thorough! Thank you!
